AWARDS
Blair’s awards while attending high school include: USA TODAY Academic All-American, Coca Cola National Scholar, Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Torchbearer, Congressional Award (Gold Medal), President’s Community Volunteer Award, Governor’s Volunteer Award, Discover Card National Tribute Award, and Toyota National Scholar.
At the University of St. Andrews, Blair was selected to attend the British School at Athens. She also was the recipient of the Mediterranean Archaeological Trust Award and the Leventis Foundation Grant.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Blair’s work experience in the legal field has taken her to a high court and two highly respected law schools.
She has worked as a research assistant for a nationally known law professor. The professor is in the process of writing a book on drug laws in the 1800’s and the moral roots of these laws.
Blair has also interned as a research assistant at another leading law school that focuses upon racial justice and equality. Blair’s specific tasks included the future of affirmative action, mental and physical heath issues upon the disadvantaged, and the criminal justices system upon minorities.
OBJECTIVE ON BECOMING AN ATTORNEY
Blair’s objective in attending law school is to become a viable spokesperson for the voiceless and defenseless. Blair has an exceptional opportunity and corresponding commitment to make equal justice her professional obligation. Her greatest challenge will lie in persuading the public and the profession to share this view. As a result of her observations as a judicial intern and her two research assistant internships, Blair is more determined than ever to pursue her ideal of one person being able to make a difference in the lives of others. In so doing, Blair will be able to contribute to the spirit and practice of “equal justice under law” so that the words that form the foundation of our legal system will not be meaningless.
